Saturday, November 3, the Tombstone Solid Waste Refuse Transfer Station and the Western Regional Landfill in Whetstone will be hosting a "Free Dump Day" to allow residents the opportunity to clean up private yards, alley and easement areas. If you need to clean out your shed, backyard or even lend a hand to your neighbor in need, this is your opportunity to do so without paying fees to dispose of any material you may have.

The Cochise County Rate Review Advisory Board (City Managers) recommended to--and then unanimously approved by the Board of Supervisor's that each Cochise County Transfer Station conduct one free dump day per year.

Please note that the Free Dump Day is for Residents Only.
Business and Commercial loads will be weighed and charged the normal tipping fee of $52 per ton.
Construction Debris will not be accepted for free and will be weighed and charged the normal tipping fee of $52 per ton.
This includes the following materials: Concrete, Brick, Gravel, Rock, Block, Tile, Asphalt, Dirt, etc.

The following are recyclable materials being accepted:

Paper Products:
Corrugated Cardboard, Magazines, Newspaper, Office Paper, Shredded Paper, Phone Books, Chipboard, Cereal Boxes

Plastics:
#1 and #2 Bottles & Jugs

E-Waste:
Cell Phones, Computers Components, Entertainment Equipment

Other:
Aluminum Cans
Tin Cans
Lead-Acid Batteries
Motor Oil & Filters
Household Paints
Tires (up to 5)

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans Available to Arizona Small Businesses

Small, nonfarm businesses in nine Arizona counties including Cochise County and one neighboring county in New Mexico are now eligible to apply for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA). These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by the drought that began April 23, 2013.
