Role
of the Steering Committee
In January of 2006, a Steering Committee of local leaders was formed to
guide the development of the Quality of Life Index.
They met throughout 2006 as volunteers representing many of
the County’s important sectors. They had several roles.
- They
determined what should be measured and how to measure it.
- They
helped gather the best available data and served as technical
reviewers where appropriate.
- They
established the need for benchmarking ourselves against others.
- They provided an important reality check for the
process, helping to ensure that the final work product meets
project goals and is presented in an accessible manner.
