Clerk of the Superior Court

Meet the Clerk

Denise Lundin Photo 01
Denise Lundin was first appointed by then Governor Symington in January 1994 to fill the remaining year of Ellen Young’s term which was vacated due to retirement. She has since won 3 elections. A graduate of the University of Arizona and an Arizona certified secondary education teacher, she also holds a certificate from The Denver Paralegal Institute, is an Arizona Certified Public Manager and a graduate of the University of Arizona’s Public Policy and Management Program. Along with her fellow clerks she has been awarded the Governor’s Award for Excellence for her role in helping to centralize the state’s child support payment process. In 2003 the University of Arizona National Alumni Association recognized her with the Sidney S. Woods Alumni Service Award.

Denise and Law Day committee members organize a celebration of Law Day each Spring, giving the public and county employees an opportunity to reflect on the role of law in our lives. Denise co-chaired a statewide workgroup whose efforts lead to the adoption of a new court rule to standardize court-generated documents and eliminate redundancy. She serves on the Arizona Supreme Court’s Committee on the Superior Court, the Committee on the Impact of Domestic Violence and the Courts, the Arizona Historical Records Advisory Board, and has just finished her term as President of the Arizona Association of Counties. She is also past-President of the Arizona Association of Superior Court Clerks. She is involved in many community organizations in Cochise County.

Major accomplishments include implementing a statewide automation system, reengineering the jury summoning process, centralizing and automating the filing system, adopting a comprehensive on-going microfilming project and digitizing marriage records, adopting strict financial procedures, and installing digital recording devices in each courtroom which eliminated the requirement of short-hand trained clerks.

Denise is currently working on implementing an Electronic Document Management System in which all court documents will be digitally scanned and available for viewing by justice system stakeholders. A pilot project to electronically distribute and post minute entries on the web is under development. She is involved in meetings relating to court space needs in Bisbee and Sierra Vista and serves on the county’s Criminal Justice Task Force.

Welcome from the Clerk: “Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. Its development is a personal project of mine in my continuing effort to more efficiently serve our community.
