The Cochise County Treasurer is the fiscal custodian of the County and is responsible for the administration and control of cash and securities. The duties involved in this responsibility include tax administration; receipt, deposit and disbursement of cash; supervision of county bank accounts; cash flow projections; investment of idle funds; debt management of bond issues, lines of credit and registered warrants. The County Treasurer plays a crucial role in county government administration.
2013 Real and Personal Property tax notices will be mailed September 19th. First half 2013 personal and real property taxes are due October 1, 2013 and will be delinquent after November 1, 2013. Second half 2013 personal and real property taxes are due March 1, 2014 and will be delinquent after May 1, 2014. Cochise County Treasurer to Save Taxpayers $20,000 per Year
If you have a mortgage on your home, chances are that you have an escrow account with your mortgage company that automatically pays your property taxes when due.You also receive a property tax bill at your home.Cathy Traywick, Cochise County Treasurer, reported that by eliminating double tax notices, one to your mortgage company and one to your home, she expects her office to save $20,000 per year in printing and mailing expenses.
Her office receives listings from the mortgage companies detailing the properties that have escrow accounts to pay the property taxes. This list is then compared to the Tax Roll and will eliminate property owners with escrow accounts so that duplicate tax bills will not be sent. But what if you want to see your tax bill? No problem; simply call the Treasurer’s Office at 520-432-8400, and request a copy. They can even email it to you. The list will be updated annually so if you pay off your mortgage, you’ll be added to the Tax Roll and receive your bill at your address of record.
Property Tax bills that have been returned as undeliverable for five years in a row will also be deleted from the Tax Roll adding to the printing and mailing expense savings. “We really want to clean up the Tax Roll,” Traywick explained, “as we look ahead to an automated system that will allow property owners to go online anytime day or night, to view and pay their property taxes.”

Cochise County Treasurer Expiration of Lien & Certificate
Notice is given that, according to law, if a tax lien that was purchased on or before AUGUST 31, 2002 is not redeemed and the purchaser or the purchaser's heirs or assigns fail to commence an action to foreclose the right of redemption on or before ten years from the date that the lien was purchased, the certificate of purchase expires and the lien is void.
