Can I get a Certificate of Occupancy if I constructed my house using the Cochise County Owner Builder Program?

Cochise County may issue a conditioned Certificate of Occupancy for participants that select the “full construction plan review with limited building code inspection” option only. Program participants that select the “no construction plan review with no building code inspection” are not eligible to receive a Certificate of Occupancy.

Any work associated with the permit must begin within 180 days after the permit is issued. The permit is considered "active" as long as work authorized by the permit is not suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days. The Building Official may grant an extension. All requests for extensions must be in writing.
